Verizon 4G MiFi Finally Stable in a 3G Area

I upgraded the 3G MiFi device last August to the 4G model and it was totally unreliable in a 3G network. I probaly have over a dozen calls to tech support with no luck getting it fixed. It was even replaced once, Simm card replaced and firmware upgraded.

In a 4G coverage area, it was rock solid. In a 3G area it would not hold a connection and would routinely power itself off. Very frustrating. I finally found a tech support technician who discovered a firmware update released last November that supposedly corrects the connection issues in a 3G only area. Did the software upgrade and it has not lost a connection in two days. Finally!!

I am now a reformed skeptic about Verizon's netork. My only questions are:

  • Why wasn't I notified of the sofware upgrade? and
  • Why didn't all the other technicians not know about this?
